Troubleshooting

Each entry is a message the bot can actually send, what it means and how to fix it.

Permissions and roles

Message	Fix
AuthentiGate needs the (permission) permission here.	Give the bot's role that permission (Server Settings → Roles), or in that channel.
AuthentiGate cannot give that role: it sits above AuthentiGate's own highest role, or an integration manages it.	Drag the AuthentiGate role above it in Server Settings → Roles. Roles managed by another bot or a booster role can't be given.
next to roles in /setup	Same: move the bot's role higher. Members get the roles at the next sync.
Their highest role is not below AuthentiGate's.	The bot can't act on that member until its role is above theirs.
Their highest role is not below yours.	You can't moderate someone at or above your own top role.
Nobody can do that to the server's owner.	Discord doesn't allow it.
You do not have permission to do that here.	You need Manage Server (setup commands), or the matching permission or staff tier (moderation).
Staff can't see a moderation command	Allow their roles on it in Server Settings → Integrations → AuthentiGate.
in /moderation → Lockdown and status	Give the bot the listed permission.
Without View Audit Log, bans, kicks and timeouts made in Discord's own menus are not recorded.	Give the bot View Audit Log.

Verification

Message	Fix
This server has not enabled verification.	The server needs Premium.
This server has used all of its verifications for this month.	Wait for next month, or ask in the support server about the limit.
Verification is started from a server. Run /verify there.	Run it in the server, not in DMs.
Verification did not succeed several times recently.	Three failed attempts in 30 days pauses new ones for a while.
That verification has ended. Run /verify to start again.	The link or button is old. Start again.
You deleted your data recently, so this account cannot verify again until …	Wait until that date.
Verified, but no role	Check the role is mapped in /verification roles, the bot's role is above it, the member meets the age requirement, and the server has Premium.

Logs, reports and appeals

Message	Fix
This server takes no reports through AuthentiGate: it has no report channel.	Set a Reports log in /logs.
This server does not take appeals through AuthentiGate.	Turn appeals on in /moderation and set an Appeals log.
Files need a mod log to live in.	Set a Mod log in /logs.
The bot needs Manage Channels and Manage Roles to create log channels.	Give its role both, then press Create again.
Discord refused: …. Pick a channel for those by hand.	Some channels couldn't be made; pick existing ones.

Moderation

Message	Fix
That is not a length. Try 30m, 2h, 1d or 1w.	Use a number and a unit.
A timeout lasts at most 28 days. For longer, use a temporary ban.
No messages matched. Messages older than 14 days cannot be bulk deleted.	Discord limit.
Choose the lockdown channels first	Pick them in /moderation → Lockdown and status.
Quarantine is not set up here.	Pick a quarantine role in /moderation → Members.
This confirmation has expired or was already used.	Start again from the member's panel.
Discord did not accept that. Try again in a moment.	Usually temporary.
That is a Premium feature.	See Premium.
Discord allows only one rule of that kind per server	Edit the existing rule in Server Settings → AutoMod.

Tickets

Message	Fix
AuthentiGate is missing a permission for that.	Channel tickets need Manage Channels and Manage Roles; thread tickets need Create Private Threads and Manage Threads.
This category is not ready yet	Pick where its tickets go in /tickets.
Thread tickets need a channel	Pick the channel its threads go in.
That Discord category is full: it holds 50 channels at most.	Pick another category in /tickets.
Pick a channel and at least one category first.	Before posting a panel.
Transcripts show who wrote but not what	The bot's Message Content setting is off; the bot's team can turn it on.
