Server setup commands
These commands configure AuthentiGate for your server. They all need Manage Server; anyone else who tries gets "You do not have permission to do that here." All replies are private.
/setup
Set up verification roles for this server: which roles the bot creates, the age requirement and what happens below it.
| Option | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| none | Everything happens in the panel |
Server setup
This server has premium: ID verification and the verified, age and region roles are on.
Verified: @Verified
Age: @+18 @+21 @+25
Region: not set
Gender: not set
Pronouns: @He/Him @She/Her @They/Them
AuthentiGate cannot give the marked roles. Move its role above them in Server Settings, Roles; members get them at the next sync.
Age requirement: +18. Below it: only the Verified role is withheld.
Roles are up to date.
Resync everyone
HelpWhat each control does (from the bot's own Help button):
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Create the missing roles for | Makes the bot's roles for the categories you pick (Verified, Age, Region, Gender, Pronouns). Roles you already chose are left alone, so running it twice doesn't make duplicates. |
| Age requirement | How old a verified member must be to get the Verified role: None, +18, +21, +25, +30, +40 or +50. |
| Below the requirement | What happens to a verified member under it: only the Verified role is withheld, or every managed role is taken away. |
| Choose roles | Opens /verification roles: pick existing roles instead of creating new ones. |
Resync everyone | Checks every member against these settings and fixes their roles. It runs by itself after a change; the button is for roles changed by hand, once every 10 minutes (it shows Resync again in N min until then). |
While a resync runs the panel shows "Updating roles: 120 of 800. Members are done one at a time, so Discord never has to slow the bot down."
Premium
Verified, age and region roles need Premium. Gender and pronoun roles are free. Without Premium the panel says so at the top.
The bot only ever adds or removes roles you mapped. Any role you didn't map is never touched.
/verification roles
Choose which role each verification result gives, with Discord's role pickers, one page per category.
+18
Verified members aged +18 to +21.
+21
Verified members aged +21 to +25.
AuthentiGate cannot give this role now. Move AuthentiGate's role above it in Server Settings, Roles.
Back
HelpUse the menu at the top to switch between Verified, Age, Region, Gender and Pronouns. Clear a picker to stop managing that role.
/verification interface
Post the Verify message in the channel you run it in. Members press Verify to start a verification and My profile to set pronouns and gender.
| Option | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
title | text | no | A heading |
text | text | no | Your own words |
Verification
Press Verify to prove your age with a photo ID and a selfie. Press My profile to set your pronouns and gender.
Replies you may see:
- "Posted. Members can verify from it now."
- "Updated the Verify message in this channel." when one already exists in that channel.
- "Could not post here. Check the bot can send messages in this channel."
/logs
Choose this server's log channels. Each log has a channel picker under its icon; a pick saves at once, and clearing a picker stops that log.
Log channels
Pick a channel for each log, or press Setup to create them all in a few clicks. Clear a picker to stop that log.
Setup
Unassign all
Join log
Every member who joins, with their account's age.
Verification log
Every member who finishes verifying, and the roles they were given.
Mod log
Every case: notes, warns, timeouts, kicks, bans. Each entry updates itself as the case changes.
…and Admin log, Reports, Appeals, Leave log, Change log, Tickets log.
The logs, in the order the panel shows them:
| Log | What it carries | Channel name when created | |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Join log | Every member who joins, with their account's age | join-log |
![]() | Verification log | Every member who finishes verifying, and the roles they were given | verification-log |
![]() | Admin log | Setup changes: roles, the age requirement, the verification interface | admin-log |
![]() | Mod log | Every case: notes, warns, timeouts, kicks, bans | mod-log |
![]() | Reports | Members' reports, with Claim, Moderate, Resolve and Dismiss | reports |
![]() | Appeals | Appeals against a ban or a long timeout, with Accept and Deny | appeals |
![]() | Leave log | Every member who leaves, with what the server saw of them | leave-log |
![]() | Change log | Channels, roles, nicknames, webhooks and bots changed, from Discord's audit log | change-log |
![]() | Tickets log | Every ticket opened, closed and reopened, with its transcript a click away | ticket-log |
Setup walks you through creating them:
- Pick a category, or leave it empty for a new Logs category that only you, the bot and your moderation staff can see. A category you pick keeps its own permissions.
- Tick the logs to create. A log that already has a channel moves to the new one.
- Press
Create: each log gets its own channel, set up and assigned in one go.
Creating channels needs Manage Channels and Manage Roles. Unassign all asks you to confirm first and leaves the channels in place.
/moderation
Moderation settings: staff, reasons, lockdown channels. Use the menu at the top of the panel to switch page. Each page has a
Help button.
Default permission: Manage Server.
Staff
Pick up to 10 roles for each tier: Helper, Moderator, Admin. See Configuration → Staff tiers.
Reasons, DMs and appeals
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Common reasons | Ready-made reasons staff can pick in every moderation pop-up. Add a common reason / Remove common reasons. |
| A reason is required for | The actions that can't go through without a reason. |
| The member is told by DM about | The actions the member gets a DM about, with the reason. For a kick or ban the DM goes first, while the bot can still reach them. |
| Confirm kicks and bans: on/off | When on, a kick or ban asks Confirm or Cancel first. |
| Appeals: on/off | When on, a member who is banned, or timed out for a day or more, gets an Appeal button in that DM. Appeals arrive in the Appeals log. |
Members
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Quarantine role | The role quarantine gives. Without one, quarantine is off. Give it no access except a channel where staff can talk to the member. |
| Clean hoisting names on join: on/off | Renames members who join with a name that starts with symbols to sit at the top of the member list (like !!name). |
| Add your own words to a DM | Pick an action and write a line added to the DM the member gets for it, for example where to read the rules. |
Lockdown and status
Pick the lockdown channels (up to 25) that /lockdown closes; each is put back exactly as it was when the lockdown ends. Below that, What AuthentiGate can do here checks the bot's permissions:
Lockdown and status
The channels /lockdown closes, at most 25. Each is put back as it was when the lockdown ends.
